Private use of The Inn
Often called “The Wedding Place”, The Inn opened in 1981 and has produced hundreds of weddings. There have been “Embassy” weddings for which traditional national foods were provided and small intimate ceremonies with “a minimum of fuss.”

We offer a variety of ways to include The Inn when you plan your ideal wedding. Whether you wish to use all or part of The Inn, you will always get the highest quality of services from the professional staff. We are prepared to accommodate you and your guests for a party, dinner, ceremony, reception or entire weekend in celebration of your nuptials. The house and the grounds provide a variety of settings and services and the kitchen staff is always ready to create a memorable feast.
CATERING NOTE: Licensed, approved caterers are welcome to utilize the facilities for any special event. Please contact us for catering rules and regulations. We will make every effort to accommodate any offsite caterer to create a wonderful team for a professional and enjoyable event.
RECEPTION: Maximum 60 guests seated indoors, or 80 with use of porch (depending on season), Maximum 80 guests standing indoors for walk abouts and cocktail parties.
Seating, linens, table & bar wares, and services are all included for indoor events. All items needed for an outside event will need to be rented at the exspense of the host. No interior Inn furniture, tableware, etc. can be used out of doors. Does not include taxes, gratuities, bartender & miscellaneous additions. Check with your event coordinator for other options, which may be available.
We can always assure our guests they will receive the highest level of individual attention and service. The reception plan includes a unique menu designed for your tastes, and non-alcoholic beverages, seating for each guest, cake cutting service including plating, house linens, and serving wares. Each menu plan includes a selection of cold and hot beverages to complement. Additional fees may apply for such things as extra furniture, furniture storage, lawn tents, parking attendants or special ceremonies, your choice of additional décor, etc.
Large Receptions and Weddings:
The Inn is able to meet the needs of indoor receptions for up to 80 or as many as 250 guests by using the full two and one half-acre property as the site of your festivities. A variety of gardens and various settings allow a wide range of themes for every celebration. Consider an elegant, black tie seated dinner or a casual buffet, picnic or crab feast. We invite your imagination to soar. We encourage you to create an event that has your unique character.
Afternoon/Evening Reception: (6 hours includes set up & breakdown time)
Offers you the use of all of the public rooms and the grounds for your ceremony and/or reception. As our gift for the bride, one lodging room is available with full package. This may be used either as a honeymoon night or for the night before “The Big Day”. This allows the bride a place to prepare for the wedding, indulge in her beauty ritual, dress, relax, and should you choose both nights, a solace during the celebration to reclaim thoughts, privately freshen up, and just unwind when the evening ends. (This room option is based on availability at time of booking.)
Friday & Sunday Rental - $1500.00 (off season $1000.00)
Saturday & Holiday Rental - $1,800.00 plus food cost (off season $1500.00)
(Off Season months are March and August.)
Intimate Weddings & Receptions:
Intimate Weddings: - Maximum 30 guests
Monday – Thursday: For the smallest and most intimate celebrations, Brunch, Luncheon, Tea or Heavy hors d’oeuvres for 4 hours between Noon and 5:00 p.m. or Evening use from 6:00 p.m.- 10 p.m. allows use of half of the first floor and porch for a $100.00 per hour rental fee, plus food costs.
Monday – Thursday: Evening use of entire first floor of The Inn for 4 hours from 6:00 p.m. – 10 p.m. is available for a $ 125.00 per hour rental fee plus food costs.
Additional overtime hours are priced at $200.00 each.
As an elegant small property in rural Frederick County, Maryland, The Inn at Buckeystown is an attractive alternative to more suburban and urban settings for your nuptial celebration. You may “hire the house” for your private use in any of the following plans. We also encourage you to discuss your own ideas with the Innkeeper; after all, this is your day!
A Classic Getaway in the Country
The Inn becomes your private retreat from the stresses and strains of the 21 Century. Available on weekdays for $1000 per night and in two-night weekend blocks for $2300.00 from Friday 1pm until Sunday 1pm, this plan offers:
v Accommodation rooms able to sleep up to 16 persons v Hearty Full breakfast each morning v Restful rural diversions, lawn games, porch sitting and garden gazing v Private use of the entire property, just you and your guests v All non-alcoholic beverages throughout your stay v Comfy wicker filled porches, all season gardens or 3 crackling fireplaces to help you step back in time and experience true relaxation.
Splendor in the Grass
Add to your getaway by holding a private Lawn Party at The Inn at Buckeystown, and get a little grass between your toes. Offered for any weekday or non-holiday weekends, this plan may include:
All of the above amenities plus…..v Lawn activities, games and diversions v Lawn furniture, equipment and settings v Mid-day lawn party with cookout menu or high tea menu may be added. Dinners from casual cookout style to formal elegant sit down meals may also be added. Consult your host for costs and menu ideas.

Drama in the Dining Room
Treat yourself and your guest to a gourmet dinner including a customized entertainment. Murder Mysteries, Palm Readings, parlor games, Mad Hatter’s Tea, table amusements or story telling can make a special memory of any event. Available as a stayover or as a drive away activity, the Drama in the Dining Room will be a certain hit with your guests and an easy time for you. Your evening includes a complete five-course dinner, especially prepared to your specifications. All dinners include a complete menu from appetizer to dessert and appropriate non-alcoholic hot and cold beverages. The evening will include snacks and you may choose from a variety of Breakfast menus for your overnight guests. Private Theme Parties require a minimum of 20 guests for events requiring a cast and 10 guests for all other events. Prices are per person. Lunch $35+ Tea $35+ Dinners $65+
Overnight Drama Package: This includes exclusive use of The Inn with up to 16 overnight guests, full breakfast, and 16 guests for the party. Additional party guests will be charged according to the meal served. $2000+.
Owner Janet Wells is also the Proprietress of Celebrations by The Vintage Bride, Inc., one of the areas most successful bridal consulting organizations. Using the accumulated resources of her career, Janet brings to The Inn at Buckeystown a unique combination of talents and an endless fountain of energy dedicated to making your perfect celebration. Temporary shelters and facilities, guest services, transportation and reception entertainment resources are just part of her repertoire. Flowers, gowns, tuxedos and furniture are all available as well as customized linen, service wares and decorations.
Celebrations by The Vintage Bride, Inc. is also available for coordinating services at other facilities. We understand The Inn cannot be all things to all people. We can be a very special part of your very special day. Even the largest party will benefit from the experience and talent that can be found at The Inn. The staff of The Inn brings a combined experience in meeting and exceeding the needs and expectations of discriminating clients. Families all over the country have begun at The Inn, many continue to be our most regular guests.
All prices are subject to 6% Maryland Sales Tax and 20% Gratuity.
